About Andrew: Andrew grew up in North East and played baseball with the NELL Program for 9 years starting with t-ball. Ending his playing career playing for the North East Pickers Varsity Baseball Team. Most recently he's been seen on the field coaching his son's t-ball team. Andrew and his wife both grew up here in North East and moved back to the area in April of 2019. Together they have a 8 year old son who plays for the NELL Program and a soon to be 3 year old daughter. On game days, Andrew and his family are rooting for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

About Katrina Heuvel: Growing up Katrina played little league for Harborcreek before playing for Mercyhurst Prep in high school. Her husband played for the NELL Program growing up and his parents were very involved in coaching. Katrina has coached t-ball for the NELL Program for the last 2 years and now this will be her daughters first year playing minors softball for the program!

About Sara Ochterski: Sara has been involved with coaching a variety of youth sports since 2014. She played many seasons of Little League growing up and is currently pursuing a degree at Mercyhurst University. Her favorite part of coaching is seeing the players smile and helping them to develop a love for the game.  Sara's team is the Toronto Blue Jays.

About Jennifer Smith: Jennifer has been an advocate for children with special needs for more than 10 years and committed volunteer with NELL, St. Gregory's Parish and Therapy Dogs United.  Jennifer and her husband have 3 beautiful children , two of which play in the NELL Challenger Program. Jennifer's teams of choice are the Cleveland Indians and our very own Erie Seawolves. 
 

Brian Fuller

About Brian Fuller:  After 24 Years in the U.S Army, Brian retired as a First Sergeant in 2019. Brian has coached numerous youth sports for over 20 years at ages raging from 5-14. Brian works as the Assistant Football Coach for the North East High School's Varsity Football Team. This is Brian and his families first year in the NELL Program. Brian's son will be participating in his first year of teeball. 

"I hope to help make NELL the best Little League in the state and one of the best in the country, in order to ensure our children, and young men and women of the NE community have the opportunity to play ball for generations to come."

Our Committees

Our committees were developed to enhance the experience for the youth of North East Little League.

Nominating Committee
1 The committee investigates and considers eligible candidates and submit at the Annual Meeting a slate of candidates for the Board of Directors. Open
Membership Committee
2 The committee receives the names of prospective Honorary, Sustaining and Regular Members, investigates them for eligibility and recommends those qualified for election at the annual, regular or any special meeting of the Members or the Board of Directors as the case may be.

Finance Committee
3 The committee investigates ways and means of financing the Local League including team sponsorships and submit recommendations. Tracy Wilkinson
Facility Committee
4 The committee investigates and recommends available, suitable sites and plans for development, including ways and means, the latter in cooperation with the Finance Committee. It is responsible for repair and improvement recommendations, for the care and maintenance of the playing field(s), buildings and grounds and supervise the performance of these activities and approved projects. Equipment Committee
5 The committee secures bids on needed playing supplies and equipment and make recommendations for their purchase to the Board. The Committee is responsible for the proper issuance of such playing supplies and equipment and for the repair, cleaning and storage thereof at the close of the season. Andrew Kimmy
Safety Committee
6 The committee is responsible to create awareness, through education and information, of the opportunities to provide a safer environment for children and all participants of Little League. Danny Carter
Umpire Committee
7 The Committee shall recruit, interview and recommend to the President for appointment a staff of umpires, including a chief umpire and replacements. Ron Turri
District Committee
8 The committee assists the District Administrator in interleague district functions including the selection of members of the District Administrator’s Advisory Committee and the selection of tournament sites and area tournament directors. Andrew Kimmy
Planning Advisory Committee
9 The Committee coordinates the activities of planning and advising the local league. It reviews and evaluates projects for raising money and disposition of profits, and make recommendations to the Board. Chris Beardsley
Auditing Committee
10 The committee reviews the Local League’s books and records annually prior to the Annual Meeting and attaches a statement of its findings to the annual financial statement. Tracy Wilkinson
Coaching Committee
11 The committee represents coaches/managers in league; presents a coach/manager training budget to the board; gains the support and funds necessary to implement a league-wide training program; orders and distributes training materials to players, coaches and managers; coordinates mini-clinics as necessary; and serves as the contact person for Little League International. Sponsorship/Fundraising Committee
12 The committee solicits and secures local sponsorships to support league operations; collects and reviews sponsorship and fundraising opportunities; organizes and implements approved league fundraising activities; coordinates participation in fundraising activities; and maintains records of monies secured through sponsorship and fundraising initiatives. Concession Committee
13 The committee reviews applications for the manager position and recommend to the board; maintains the operation of concession facilities; organizes the purchase of concession products; responsible for the management of the concession sales at league events; schedules volunteers to work the concession booth during league events; collects and reviews concession related offers including coupons, discounts and bulk-purchasing opportunities; organizes, and tallies and keeps records of concession sales and purchases. Tournament Hosting Committee
14 The committee sets up the annual Can-Am tournament, whether hosted locally or in Canada, including creating an itinerary for families, working on border crossing, ordering hats or shirts and gifts for coaches and league presidents; creates and distributes the publicity for any hosted tournament; secures individuals necessary to staff any hosted tournament well in advance of the tournament start date; works with the Sponsorship/Fundraising Committee chairperson to secure sponsors and/or setup any hosted tournament fundraising opportunities (50/50 raffles, other raffles or prizes); works with the Facility Committee on parking, restroom facilities and field preparations; works with the Safety Committee on medical preparedness and security; works with the Concession Committee chairperson to secure concessions; and works with the Umpire Committee chairperson to secure umpires.
